Application Deadline for the 1st Wei Ming-Kuang Prize Extended to December 31, 2025

【Press Release】 Strong Response to the Wei Ming-Kuang Journalism Prize Proposals — Submission Deadline Extended to December 31

The 1st Wei Ming-Kuang Journalism Prize has received an enthusiastic response and widespread attention from the journalism community since the call for proposals opened. The organizer announced today (Nov. 11) that the original submission deadline of December 15 will be extended to December 31, 2025 (Wednesday), at 5:00 PM. This extension responds to strong interest and numerous inquiries from proposal teams and individuals. Applicants who have already submitted proposals are also welcome to update and resubmit their materials.

The organizer noted that a large number of prospective applicants have recently sought professional consultations regarding proposal directions, implementation plans, and potential collaborations. This demonstrates the industry’s high expectations for the prize’s core mission—to support journalistic innovation and address the challenges facing today’s media environment. To allow applicants sufficient time to strengthen key materials and further refine their proposals, the submission period has been extended, providing a more flexible and applicant-friendly timeline to support thoughtful planning and complete documentation.

Guided by its mission to foster innovation, respond to challenges in the media landscape, and cultivate top journalistic talent, the Wei Ming-Kuang Prize features two main award categories—the Advocacy Award and the Exploration Award—with grants of up to NT$2.5 million per project, encouraging diverse and innovative media practices.
